Mohakk Nanda was born and brought up in the north, in Uttar Pradesh and has all the guts and gumption of a northern girl. A sporty girl from school, she excelled in athletics and basketball and was school captain. An MA in Hindi Literature from Delhi University, she is trained in classical dance (Bharata Natyam), has done theatre, stage anchoring, print advertisements, and television shows.
