Daisy Bopanna is a well known Indian actress who has appeared in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. Daisy Bopanna was born on 4th December, 1984 in Coorg, Karnataka. Daisy attended Aurobindo School and later completed her pre-university at Kumarans College. She studied at Chitrakala Parishat [C.K.P] in Bangalore, Karnataka and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.


Daisy had a sharp academic acumen and wanted to pursue a career in computer sciences. She also enrolled for a software course at Aptech, but left it midway owing to a sudden change of plans. She instead chose the glamour and entertainment industry as a career option. Though Daisy wanted to become a copywriter and eventually run her own ad agency, she somehow ended up working with B. Jayasri’s Spandana theatre camp. Her first attempt at acting started with theatre and she acted in many stage plays. 


Daisy Bopanna has mostly appeared in Kannada films, she has also done a few Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films and one Hindi film. Her Kannada film ‘Bimba’ starring her, Raksha, Sudharani, Prakash Raj, among others was screened at the Berlin & Frankfurt Film Festival. Later the film was screened at the Bangkok Film Festival and also won many international accolades. ‘Bimba’ was directed by Kavitha Lankesh and was based on the exploitation of child artists in the film industry.


Daisy Bopanna was also seen in Kannada films like ‘Satyavan Saavithri’, ‘Thavarina Siri’ and guest appearance in ‘Volave Jeevana Lekkachara’. Daisy was appreciated for her performance in kannada superhit ‘Rama Shama Bhama’ alongside Ramesh Arvind, Shruthi, Kamal Hassan and Urvashi. Directed by Ramesh Arvind and produced by k Manju ‘Rama Shama Bhama’ was the remake of Tamil film ‘Sathi Leelavathi’. Daisy starred alongside Upendra and Deepika Padukone in another successful Kannada film ‘Aishwarya’ directed by Indrajit Lankesh. Daisy earned a ‘spicy Daisy’ tag after appearing opposite Darshan in ‘Bhagavan’.


Daisy’s Telugu films like ‘Relax’, ‘Chanti’ and ‘Sweetheart’ failed to do well at the box office. Her first Tamil film ‘Indru Mudhal’ went unnoticed; however she was later seen in another Tamil film ‘Chakkara Viyugam: the Battle of the Brains ‘. The film was directed by Udayabanu Maheshwaran and jointly produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd and Nataraja Arts. ‘Chakkara Viyugam: the Battle of the Brains’ was a Tamil drama film starring Natarajan Subramaniam, Raaghav, Jayasurya and Daisy Bopanna.


Daisy Bopanna starred alongside an ensemble cast including suresh Gopi, Saikumar, Shweta Menon, among others in the Malayalam mega hit ‘Bharathchandran I.P.S’. Directed by Ranji Panicker, ‘Bharathchandran I.P.S’ was an action thriller film and was the sequel to ‘Commissioner’ released around ten years ago. Daisy Bopanna worked alongside superstar Mammootty in Renjith’s Malayalam film ‘Prajapathi’. The film also starred Kannada actress Aditi Rao Hydari and Sandhya.


Daisy Bopanna is mostly recognized for playing the role of ‘Deepti’ in Bollywood superhit comedy ‘Garam Masala’ alongside Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. ‘Garam Masala’ was directed by Priyadarshan and also starred Neetu Chandra, Rimi Sen and Nargis Bagheri as other female leads. ‘Garam Masala’ was a box office success and Daisy was appreciated for her exemplary performance.


Since then Daisy has appeared in over 150 TV commercials and print advertisements for several brands.
